How it works

  1. 1. Message us on WhatsApp with your reference code. We find out exactly what you need and check your documents.
  2. 2. We agree your quote with our vetted agent and confirm the price and your appointment date back to you.
  3. 3. You pay, and our agent submits your application on the NIS portal and books your biometric slot.
  4. 4. You attend the High Commission once. We brief you the day before and track the passport until it arrives by Special Delivery.

What you must do in person: Biometric capture is in person at Nigeria High Commission, 9 Northumberland Avenue, London WC2N 5BX (submissions 9:00am to 1:00pm). Adults renewing may be eligible for the contactless route via the NIS Mobile app instead; we tell you which applies to you.

10 working days, guaranteed. Or your coordination fee back.

The High Commission publishes no processing time and most agents say "several weeks". We put a number on it and stand behind it.

How it is counted: The clock starts on the working day after your documents are complete and your coordination fee is paid, and stops on the day your new passport is dispatched to you. Ten working days, maximum. When we quote, we confirm in writing that your case qualifies; the rare cases that cannot be done in ten days by anyone (for example where a document must first be obtained from Nigeria) are told so before you pay anything.

If we miss it: If we miss it, we refund your coordination fee in full, no argument. Official fees paid to the Nigeria Immigration Service or the High Commission are outside our control and are not refundable by us.

The guarantee does not cover delays caused by:

  • Documents that turn out to be incomplete or incorrect, or information that is inaccurate.
  • A NIN that does not match your passport details and was not corrected first (we check this before you pay).
  • An appointment missed or rescheduled on your side.
  • An official system outage, suspension or policy change announced by the Nigeria Immigration Service or the High Commission.
  • A case we told you in writing at quote stage falls outside the guarantee, for example where a document must first be obtained from Nigeria.

Documents you will need

Standard renewal
  • Current or expired Nigerian passport
  • Printed application form from the NIS portal
  • Your NIN, matching the name and date of birth on your passport
  • Appointment confirmation
  • £20 UK postal order payable to Nigeria High Commission London
  • Stamped, self-addressed Royal Mail Special Delivery C4 envelope
  • Two passport photographs to NIS specification
Name change (marriage or divorce)
  • Everything above
  • Marriage certificate or decree absolute
  • Note: deed poll name changes are not accepted by the High Commission

We check all of this with you before anything is submitted, so you attend once.

What causes delays

  • NIN details that do not match the passport (the most common rejection reason). We check this before anything is submitted.
  • Appointment scarcity. Slots at the High Commission can run months ahead; the annual intervention exercises add temporary capacity.
  • Missing the C4 Special Delivery envelope on the day. There is no collection.
  • Unpaid or unmatched NIS portal payment receipts.

Common questions

What exactly does the 10-working-day guarantee cover?

The clock starts on the working day after your documents are complete and your coordination fee is paid, and stops on the day your new passport is dispatched to you. Ten working days, maximum. When we quote, we confirm in writing that your case qualifies; the rare cases that cannot be done in ten days by anyone (for example where a document must first be obtained from Nigeria) are told so before you pay anything. If we miss it, we refund your coordination fee in full, no argument. Official fees paid to the Nigeria Immigration Service or the High Commission are outside our control and are not refundable by us.

How much does it cost to renew a Nigerian passport in the UK?

The official fees are $150 for a 32-page 5-year passport or $230 for a 64-page 10-year passport, paid in US dollars on the NIS portal, plus a £20 postal order to the Nigeria High Commission. Our coordination fee is quoted when you message us, before you pay anything.

Do I have to attend the High Commission in person?

For most renewals, yes: biometric capture is in person at 9 Northumberland Avenue, London. Adults renewing may qualify for the contactless route through the NIS Mobile app. Minors and first-time applicants cannot use contactless.

Can you attend for me?

No. Nobody can take your biometrics for you. What we do is make sure you only have to attend once, with everything correct.

How long does Nigerian passport renewal take in the UK?

It depends on appointment availability and the High Commission's processing volume. We give you our current realistic estimate when we confirm your booking, based on recent completed cases, and we update you throughout.

Do I need a NIN to renew my Nigerian passport?

Yes. Under the NIMC Act 2026 a NIN is mandatory for passport applications, and the details must match your passport. If you do not have one, or yours needs correcting, we coordinate that first.

Can I renew before my passport expires?

Yes. You can renew a passport that is still valid. Many people renew six to twelve months before expiry to avoid travel problems.
