How it works

What you must do in person: No attendance is needed for a Nigeria e-visa; it is applied for online. If we recommend a Nigerian passport for a family member instead, that route involves one in-person appointment.

Do British citizens need a visa for Nigeria?
Yes. Since 1 May 2025 visa on arrival is no longer available; British passport holders apply for a Nigeria e-visa online before travelling.
Does my baby born in the UK need a visa for Nigeria?
If the child travels on a British passport, yes. If the child has a Nigerian parent, a Nigerian passport removes the need for a visa on every future trip and usually costs less than repeat visas.
How long does the Nigeria e-visa take?
