How it works
- 1. Message us with your reference code. We check what you have that proves Nigerian citizenship.
- 2. We agree your quote with our vetted agent and confirm price and appointment date to you.
- 3. You pay, and our agent prepares the application and any attestation needed and books your slot.
- 4. You attend the High Commission once. We track the passport to your door.
What you must do in person: First-time applicants must attend in person at Nigeria High Commission, 9 Northumberland Avenue, London WC2N 5BX (submissions 9:00am to 1:00pm). The contactless route is not available for first issue.
10 working days, guaranteed. Or your coordination fee back.
The High Commission publishes no processing time and most agents say "several weeks". We put a number on it and stand behind it.
How it is counted: The clock starts on the working day after your documents are complete and your coordination fee is paid, and stops on the day your new passport is dispatched to you. Ten working days, maximum. When we quote, we confirm in writing that your case qualifies; the rare cases that cannot be done in ten days by anyone (for example where a document must first be obtained from Nigeria) are told so before you pay anything.
If we miss it: If we miss it, we refund your coordination fee in full, no argument. Official fees paid to the Nigeria Immigration Service or the High Commission are outside our control and are not refundable by us.
The guarantee does not cover delays caused by:
- Documents that turn out to be incomplete or incorrect, or information that is inaccurate.
- A NIN that does not match your passport details and was not corrected first (we check this before you pay).
- An appointment missed or rescheduled on your side.
- An official system outage, suspension or policy change announced by the Nigeria Immigration Service or the High Commission.
- A case we told you in writing at quote stage falls outside the guarantee, for example where a document must first be obtained from Nigeria.
Documents you will need
Adult first issue
- Birth certificate (Nigerian, or a UK certificate showing a Nigerian parent)
- A parent's Nigerian passport or other proof of the parent's Nigerian citizenship
- NPC attestation or declaration of age where the birth certificate is unavailable
- Your NIN
- Guarantor form where required
- Two passport photographs to NIS specification
- £20 UK postal order and a stamped, self-addressed Special Delivery C4 envelope
We check all of this with you before anything is submitted, so you attend once.
What causes delays
- Missing proof of a parent's Nigerian citizenship.
- No NIN. A NIN is mandatory; we coordinate enrolment first if needed.
- Birth registration gaps requiring an NPC attestation.
Common questions
What exactly does the 10-working-day guarantee cover?
The clock starts on the working day after your documents are complete and your coordination fee is paid, and stops on the day your new passport is dispatched to you. Ten working days, maximum. When we quote, we confirm in writing that your case qualifies; the rare cases that cannot be done in ten days by anyone (for example where a document must first be obtained from Nigeria) are told so before you pay anything. Can a British citizen get a Nigerian passport?
If you are Nigerian by birth or descent, yes. Nigeria permits dual citizenship for citizens by birth. You will need to prove your Nigerian parentage.
Can I do a first issue through the contactless app?
No. Contactless is for adult renewals only. First issue is in person at the High Commission.
What if I have no Nigerian birth certificate?
An NPC attestation of birth or a declaration of age can usually be used. We tell you exactly what will be accepted before you pay anything.
