Nigerian Docs UK gives you the honest picture on getting a Nigerian BVN (Bank Verification Number) from the UK. Since May 2025 the Central Bank's NRBVN platform lets Nigerians abroad enrol fully online for a non-refundable $50, with the BVN issued within 72 hours of approval. If you only need a new BVN and have a valid passport and proof of UK residence, the $50 NRBVN route may be all you need and you can do it yourself; we will tell you so. Our coordination fee for the in-person, correction and account-linking routes is quoted when you message us.

How it works

What you must do in person: The NRBVN remote route needs no attendance. In-person BVN capture, where required, is at a licensed UK enrolment centre; we direct you to a verified one.

What causes delays

Assuming BVN is free abroad. It is free inside Nigeria; the remote diaspora route is $50.
Phone-number changes: under CBN rules from 1 May 2026 the phone number linked to a BVN can be changed once in a lifetime. Get it right.

Common questions

Can I get a BVN without going to Nigeria?

Yes. The CBN and NIBSS launched the Non-Resident BVN (NRBVN) platform in May 2025. You enrol online with your passport and proof of residence, pay $50, and receive your BVN within 72 hours of approval.

Is BVN registration free in the UK?

No. BVN is free inside Nigeria, but the remote diaspora route costs $50 and in-person UK enrolment centres charge their own fees.

Do I need an agent for a BVN?

Often not. If your case is a straightforward new BVN with a valid passport, we will tell you to use the $50 NRBVN route yourself. You need help when there is a correction, a phone-number change, an in-person requirement, or a bank account to open or unfreeze.
